This is going to be my thoughts and opinion on Fruits Basket which is a japanese anime named after the game fruits basket well its about a young girl Tohru whose mother dies in a car accident she was supposedly suppose to be living with her grandfather however some other family members moved into his home and they need to make a renovation therefore Tohru takes this as an oportunity to live alone however her new home turns out being a tent on the land of Shigure who she later meets by sheer coincidence she stumbles upon his collection of the twelve characters of the chinese zodiac and i wont say anymore because this is going to be too long haha

I admire Tohru and actually wish i could be like her however life isnt like anime and people arent so forgiving or understanding. To me it seemed that the theme was about kindness and kindness can get you anywhere and touch anyone and thats what i liked about it i really loved watchinig the characters development into what they were in the begining to what they were at the end Kyo being the one constantly misunderstood and has a really bad temper and gets easily irritated with Yuki. Kyo feels that him and Yuki will never get along due to the fact that Kyo is a cat (which isnt part of the chinese zodiac thanks to the rat but they explain it in the anime) and Yuki is the rat. Further into the anime we realize that Yuki and Kyo envy each other and Tohru makes sucha a good point using a riceball and i simply fell in love with her explanation she says "in this world there are umeboshi with so many different shapes and so many different colors and tastes on everyones back but they cant see their own deliciouos umeboshi because its on their back -- the reason why people envy others so much is probaby because you can see it better if the umeboshi is on others back" i loved it cause its so true because i may not see my good qualities but maybe someone out there can i see their good qualities. I love when we get to know the rest of the Sohma family many can be confusing dressing themselves up as female when they are really male like Momiji (rabbit) and Ri (monkey). I have to admit that the last episode made me cry it was so well done showing Akitos true reason to be so hateful towards the rest of the family with his face off with Tohru i loved it this anime has such a emotional and psychological value I would recommend anyone to see it it gets a 7/5 for me thats how good it was most definitely ^_^
